Not your typical playground, this is definitely one for the more adventurous kids.. and for parents who can handle watching their children challenging their skills.
At the weekend, we decided to head over to Schoeneberg to check out a witch themed playground there. We taught the toddler to cackle with us and entered the playground in full witchy spirit ha ha.
I have been to Plaenterwald a few times with the kids but never had the opportunity to go to the beautiful 'Forest Playground' (Waldspielplatz) there until this last weekend. I was blown away by the mix of natural elements (the kids were building their own treehouse out of branches found in the forest surrounding the playground) and the structures such as climbing frames, a steam train, a tractor and boats all made from pieces of trees.
Yesterday we headed to Königs Wusterhausen, a town just outside Berlin, in Brandenburg. While there, we came across this fabulous playground. It's certainly not the biggest I've been too before but I can 100% say it's my favourite to date...
At the weekend, the boys and I headed out to Schöneberg to check out an usual playground right near Winterfeldtplatz.
Hasenheide Park, on the Neukölln/Kreuzberg border, is not only home of a small animal section, a little cafe and open air cinema in the summer months, it also houses two wonderful playgrounds. The first, I featured in this post and the second I presenting here.
This playground features characters from the 1001 Arabian Nights, with a genie, camels, a very large boat, wonderful swings and slides, their own type of palm trees and more. Hidden in Görlitzer Park, is this mighty fine little playground. Perhaps not as fancy as some of the other playgrounds i've featured, I still think it's worth mentioning as I love this big ship standing slap-bang in the middle. The playground was recently built and you can tell from how new and un-graffiti'd everything looks.
One of my readers recommended I head to Charlottenburg to check out a Snow White themed playground near Charlottenburg S Bahn. Whilst in the area for a meeting, I decided to check it out and what a cute playground it is.
Another day in Berlin and another fun playground to check out. Neukölln's Hasenheide Park features two great playgrounds, both of which will be featured on here. The first of the two includes a walk past a small area featuring animals and pony rides (although I have never been there at the right time for the rides!).
A meeting this morning meant I had the chance to visit and photograph this wonderful gem of a playground hidden off the beaten path in Neukölln. Situated just a minutes walk from S Bahn Köllnische Heide, this large playground has a fairy tale theme and boy does it go for it!
