We live in Wilmersdorf Halensee.
How long have you been living there?
What do you like most about your neighbourhood?
It’s alive, has the feeling of neighbourhood, it’s quiet but also very close to Kudamm. It has all the stores a family needs close by ( super markets, bakeries, butcher, groceries).
Are there any aspects you don’t like about your neighbourhood?
The fact that it’s changing a little at the moment makes me a little worried about the close future; if it will be better or worse.
Where do you most like to go in your neighbourhood during the Spring / Summer months with the kids?
At the lakes close by, Halensee and Lietznsee and also at the playgrounds.
Where do you most like to go in your neighbourhood during the Autumn / Winter months with the kids?
When the weather is not so good we are mostly walking around.
Are you aware of many other international families living in your neighbourhood?
Yes, there are many international families , I always meet them at the playground. From Russian, Turkish, Greek, British, American to Spanish and Georgian.
Do you think your neighbourhood is suitable for families who can’t yet speak German?
Yes, for a short time though. My German is not so good yet but I never had trouble communicating.
Is it easy to get around your neighbourhood with public transport or is having a car more vital where you live?
There are buses that go down Kudamm, one that connects the area with the rest of Wilmersdorf and also the Ringbahn is close so you can go everywhere.
What is the quality of playgrounds in your neighbourhood and do you have a favourite?
There are some playgrounds in the area, all in good conditions but the best, which is also the nicest, most crowded and biggest, is called Indiana Bones and is opposite of the S-bahn Halensee.
Did you find it easy to attain a suitable childcare spot in your neighbourhood?
My daughter is not going to the KITA yet but there are plenty in the area.

Yes there are. So far I have spotted a Spanish-German, a French-German and an English-German.
Can you describe your neighbourhood in five words / adjectives?
Family friendly, safe, quiet but with easy access to noise and people, nice and alive.
