Shanay is a single mum who moved to Berlin from New York, with her ex-partner, Iyla’s dad, when Iyla was 6 months old. It was never a long term plan to stay, and she remembers being lonely, culture-shocked and alienated by the language on arrival. However, with a new German fiancé, a new bump and a ring on her finger, Shanay is thrilled she made Berlin her home...it'll be her 6th year this year.
