When snow hits Berlin, there are plenty of points across the city to head to with the children for a bit of family sledding / sledging / tobogganing. Put on those snowsuits, get out the wooly hat and gloves and head out for hours of fun. Here are my tips for where to go sledding with the kids in Berlin...
Volkspark Hasenheide, Neukölln Walk through this park and you will find a number of hills at different levels, so there is plenty on offer for different ages. If you are feeling particularly brave, head to the 'Rixdorfer Höhe', a roughly 70 meter hill, perfect for these looking for a challenge!
Nearest Station: U Bahn Hermannplatz
Viktoriapark, Kreuzberg If you are looking for another park that gives options for children of different ages, this is a good one. To boot, there are brilliant views (on a clear day) from the top of this hill where the memorial created by Schinkel sits. You can read more about Viktoriapark here.

Where: Kreuzbergstraße / Katzbachstraße, 10965 Berlin
Volkspark Friedrichshain This park offers different level hills, so good for those going with children of different ages. There is also a restaurant in the park to warm up in and eat off the hunger of a good day's sledding!

Where: Am Friedrichshain, 10407 Berlin
Fritz-Schloß-Park, Moabit This park situated near Hauptbahnhof is most suitable for a bit older children and offers a wide hill for sledding with food options nearby should you get hungry.
Nearest Stations: S Bahn Hauptbahnhof or U Bahn Turmstr.
Where: Rathenower Str., 12305 Berlin
Fitschtalpark, Zehlendorf More for the smaller kids, this park offers slopes that are not-so-steep as some of the alternative parks. If you are seeing your little one go sledding for the first time, this might be the one for you.
Nearest Station: U Bahn Onkel-Toms-Hütte
Where: Onkel-Tom-Straße, 14169 Berlin
Freizeitpark Lübars, Reinickendorf This park offers a wide and popular slope so expect possible crowds at peak times. There are floodlights for when the light goes, so no need to stop sledding in to the late afternoon!
Nearest Station: S Bahn Wittenau (a bit of a walk though)
Where: Alte Fasanerie, 13469 Berlin
Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg, Prenzlauer Berg This park offers both a steeper and not-so-steep hill, so a few options for big and small. Expect it to be busy though and if you can't find it, ask someone where the 'Oderbruchkippe' is and they'll point you in the right direction.
Nearest Station: S Bahn Landsberger Allee
Where: Hohenschönhauser Straße, 10407 Berlin
The Insulaner, Steglitz This is one of Berlin's most popular and beloved sledding hills and it offers both a beginner's slope and one for the more experienced sledders. The park also features a Planetarium and Observatory to see when taking a break from sledding fun.
Nearest Station: S Bahn Priesterweg
Where: Munsterdamm, 12169 Berlin
Volkspark Rehberge, Wedding A great option for children of all ages, this Wedding park is popular with many families searching out the slopes.
Nearest Station: S Bahn Afrikanische Str.
Where: Windhuker Straße, 13351 Berlin
